Ancaster Roman Weekend was a success and enjoyed by everyone who attended. A small amount of money has been raised for the School, Playing field and Church. It promoted a lot of interest in the history of Ancaster and hopefully this will become a regular event. The Grantham Archaeological Group were thrilled with the results of their dig and they will be explained in detail in the parish hall some time during September or October. The Roman Reenactment Group have expressed their interest in returning to Ancaster if we wish.
Organisers would like to thank the Parish Council whose initial investment made this weekend possible and also to the residents and visitors who supported all the fund raising events that were held on the run up to the weekend.
